First I ironed the placemat flat to remove any wrinkles
Then I folded it to the desired length I wanted and ironed it again
I pinned along the edges and sewed it together. I just followed the lines already sewn on the placemat
Added a snap closure simply because this is what I had on hand.
Farther away picutre of the progress so far. I think it needs something else though
So I dug around my fabric stash and found a coordinating fabric and made fabric flower.
I attached a 1" pin to the back of the flower so that the flower can be removed if so desired
Testing it's strength/durability and size with some basic purse items :)
The finished product

Found you from Creations by Kara. Great idea.. I love making things out of placemats, so easy and fun. I have made pillows and purses, you can see them on my blog if you like. :)
