28 Weeks

I am 28 weeks and 1 day pregnant. That means I started my third trimester yesterday!! The pregnancy milestones just keep coming. Keith and I saw the baby doctor yesterday. I've gained 3 pounds since my last visit 3 weeks ago. But I've only gained 12 pounds this entire pregnancy. I'm very proud of myself :) The doctor says from here on out I should gain about 1 pound per week. I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks now. My blood pressure looked good and the baby's heartbeat was good also. I asked the nurse what the BPM was but she said their Doppler didn't show it, but "the heartbeat sounded to be in the perfect range". So I'm not sure but I guess I can believe her. Although she only looked to be my age, she's gone to medical school and I haven't. So I trust her. It's time to sign up for the birthing class. Hopefully they still have an October opening. I have a slight hernia behind my belly button but the doctor isn't worried about it. They are just gonna check it each time I come in and make sure it doesn't get worse. The doctor gave me a big speech about getting the flu shot and when the H1N1 shot comes in I need to get it too . However, I cannot get either vaccine because I'm allergic to eggs. So I just have to wash constantly and the minute I feel like I'm getting the flu I have to call them and there's some medicine (I don't remember the name) that they can give me to lessen the symptoms. I'd love to get the shot but no one knows what kind of allergic reactin I'd have if I did get it and so it's not worth the risk. In October 2007 I ended up in the hospital because of the flu. I even missed our best friends wedding :( Just praying it doesn't happen again.

There is a Cosco & Dorel Juvenile Group factory here in Columbus. Once a year they have this sale in their parking lot. Last year I bought stuff for Hailee (Keith and I's Goddaughter) but I didn't need anything myself. Well they had that sale last week or so and I definitely went. Keith wasn't as happy about it as I was :) The main thing they promote there is car seats and car seat safety. Since we already have that I just checked out the other goodies they had. We ended up buying a Safety 1st baby bath tub for $5. A ear thermometer for $10. 2 of those signs for the car window that say "Baby on Board" for $0.25 each. And the best buy of them all was an Eddie Bauer Cherry stained, solid wood rocking bassinet for $55!!!! And, it came with a matress and sheet and the cover thingie. I thought we'd have to buy bassinet bedding for it but nope! It was all in the box!! I am beyond excited about it. I couldn't wait to see what it looked like so I asked Keith to put to together and he did :) I already have it in our bedroom where it's going to be when the baby arrives.

I am posting some pictures of the baby's room and a few other odds and ends...

This crib my great grandfather, Joseph Konieczka, built for me in 1986. It's been used by 4 of his great grandbabies and then stored until the next generation came along. If he were alive, his great great grandbaby will be using this :)

My turn!

Jake's turn :)

Our $55 Eddie Bauer Bassinet :)
Another view of bassinet. It's kind of a cream and sage green color. Very nuetral.

Our newest family member, Steve. He is our new "boy goat" that we will use to breed our girls. They will probably start breeding next month.

Although Steve is very people friendly, he never held still long enough to get his picture taken. Not a good picture anyway.

Steve's girlfrfiends waiting for their turn to be fed

Finally! They always race ahead of you to meet you at the feeder

One more of Steve :)

Our big baby of a St. Bernard, Boomer. He really is a gentle giant. The fountain in our pond that our amazing friends bought for us

I think that's enough for now :) Have a good Wednesday!!

Love,

Jess
